Archuleta County Receives $466,000 Broadband Grant

The Archuleta County Broadband Services Management Office announced today that the Colorado Broadband Deployment Board approved a grant application for $466,000 to extend broadband coverage to nearly 600 underserved households in Archuleta County. This grant–part of a total $717,000 project including matching funds from the Archuleta County Broadband Fund, Visionary Communications and Hinsdale County–completes a funding round that enables Visionary Communications to install six fixed wireless towers in Archuleta and Hinsdale Counties in 2020.

These grant monies will make a huge difference in the availability of broadband for residents of Arboles, Chromo, the Middle Piedra area, Upper US 84, and northern Archuleta County and southern Hinsdale County. Look for a full press release with more details from the Archuleta County Broadband Services Management Office the week of November 18, 2019.
